While doing our best to re-elect President Trump, conservatives must also consider medium to longer term actions if Joe Biden is elected instead. Several additional unfortunate outcomes must also be considered.
Should Mr. Biden become President, the House Speaker has already indicated willingness and preparation to remove him from office in favor of Kamala Harris, recognizing his obvious mental frailty and age. Since such a cure would be worse than the disease, any such effort to pass the “Presidential Fitness Commission” law should be resisted, especially given its dependence on unelected members. This may be difficult if his disability indeed becomes more apparent, and impossible with a Democratic House and Democratic Senate. The House will likely be held by the Democrats, and if so, all efforts should be made to encourage the Speaker’s caucus to replace her with a more centrist and reasonable individual.
