Democrats Deny Democracy
Biden now tells America why democracy, as practiced by Democrats, must be overturned
After three and a half years of insisting that Republicans, and especially populists favoring Mr. Trump, are enemies that are trying to overturn or destroy democracy, Mr. Biden has finally publicly proclaimed that democracy under the Democrat administration clearly needs to be destroyed. His commencement address to Morehouse College students was an angry denunciation of the very democracy he and his Democrat majority have presided over for those very years. He ranted about our current democracy’s failings, in fact its enmity, to a distinct segment of our population as a way of recruiting that population to return him to office in order to continue it.
His exact phrases, as quoted in the Wall Street Journal, bear repeating for those who have not seen or heard them:
“You started college just as George Floyd was murdered and there was a reckoning on race. It’s natural to wonder if democracy you hear about actually works for you.
“What is democracy if black men are being killed in the street?
“What is democracy if a trail of broken promises still leaves black—black communities behind?
“What is democracy if you have to be 10 times better than anyone else to get a fair shot?
“And most of all, what does it mean, as we’ve heard before, to be a black man who his country even if it doesn’t love him back in equal measure?”
We know that his captive audience, all unusually well-educated young men who happen to be Americans of African ancestry, must heed and believe his words. As Mr. Biden has said (paraphrasing), “If you don’t vote for me, you ain’t black.”
His last quote above is especially meaningful. He questions why these young, accomplished men should love his America since it doesn’t love them, and altogether is urging them to hate his version of our country. We need not discuss in detail who's massively expanded federal social spending has somehow left black communities behind. Nor that the forgotten (and admittedly often failed) Constitutional promise of equal opportunity does not mean equal outcomes. Nor that these men of Morehouse College themselves chose to be separate and hopefully more than equal in an historically Black college, despite 1954’s reversal of Plessy v. Ferguson. The recent court decision regarding Harvard University illustrates that reverse discrimination can be as equally unjust as that which has been practiced upon our minority communities since our founding and despite the private intentions of the Constitution’s Framers.
Who formalized racism via government in America? It was a convenient benefit to whites everywhere, but an economic necessity to the South. That area of our country, before and after the Civil War delegitimized racism de jure if not de facto, was run up through our current era by the Democrat party. Biden’s party destroyed the gains of Radical Republican Reconstruction, interestingly via the fruits of a deeply contested Presidential election in 1876. Biden’s party was the foundation of the Ku Klux Clan, and of Jim Crow. Biden notes that latter largely southern American “culture” is still active and another ongoing failure of democracy. That may be so, given his prior long-term support of Jim Crow during his years as a Senator and close confidant of such as William Byrd. Democrat devotion to racism, not democracy, found its most ardent supporter in our nation’s first “progressive” President, Woodrow Wilson. Yet our current progressive-in-chief would have us believe that those who founded their political movement in stalwart objection to racism are the current threats to everybody, since democracy by definition is everybody.
What is the basis for Republicanism? Many in that party may have forgotten it in the heat of battle, not for our democracy, but for our democratic Constitutional republic. Review those base principles here.
We need not make America great again—it has always been, in the slow stutter-step of becoming greater. America First means all Americans first and foremost. The character of Americans can be defined by their color, which is red, white, blue, and gold. Mr. Biden now clearly seeks to pervert Ronald Reagan’s call to freedom. Reagan said, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall”. Mr. Biden now says, “Black men of America, tear down this democracy”. The choices are ours.
