Thanks very much for the opportunity to meet with you at this morning's event. Good to feel safe amongst like-minded people who like you are Constitutional Common-Sense Conservatives. Your realism in campaigning regarding what you can work towards, not promise to accomplish, is refreshing. We all realize that if elected you will not get "first choice" of committee assignments but will work on the kitchen table problems you espouse.
I hope in the process you can persistently educate your voters, constituents, and Congressional colleagues on the underlying causes of these problems, which are often glossed over or ignored by the public and media.
For example:
Inflation is the result of the government, via the Federal Reserve, creating and distributing "money" out of thin air. Balanced Budget Amendments, etc., will fail unless this process can be curbed or stopped.
Illegal immigration can and should be stopped as a national security concern (terrorism, crime, drugs). A return of the Public Charge measure is needed as well as continuation of Title 42.
Laws must be enforced or changed, not ignored or selectively enforced. The latter are misdemeanors invoking impeachment under the Constitutional meaning of the words as revealed by the Federalist Papers and Noah Webster's original dictionary from 1828.
Government by bureaucracy must cease--Congress must do their job. Reduce, combine, or eliminate programs before new ones are created.
Government by Executive Order must cease--Presidential power in this area must be circumscribed by Acts of Congress on the basis of an originalist interpretation of the Constitution. The Patriot Act should be rescinded. The War Powers Act needs at least revision.
Financial intervention by corporations must be controlled and reduced--despite the Supreme Court's decision (perhaps to be revisited?) corporations are NOT individuals endowed by their creator with the right of free speech invoked as spending money for political purposes. They cannot vote and cannot serve in the military, e.g…
As a final aside, the federal law requiring teaching about the Constitution every February 17th to schoolchildren is uniformly ignored. One Federal education standard could be required ongoing education of primary school students in the Constitution and its background. This document was written by layman, not lawyers, and was not meant to be arcane or obscure.
There are many other issues needing your attention upon election, and there will not be enough of you or of your time to address many of them. But I hope that in all communications with your possible colleagues and with your public you will constantly refer to and quote the Constitution and its amendments, since as an accomplished Federal prosecutor you are far more familiar with these sacred foundations of our nation than I.
Thank you for your time and attention.
