It occurs to me that the Democrats may be playing a winning game of Damned if you do, Damned if you don’t regarding the midterm and presidential elections. Republican leadership may be choosing to die on the hill of abortion. The Democrat gross abuses of power in the FBI and Department of Justice, as well as the Presidency, focused on Trump may cause him to be a reactively unassailable Republican candidate in 2024 thus activating the Democrat base and all Never Trumpers to defeat him. Or he will be prevented from running by ongoing investigations, indictments and endless pretrial legal maneuvers meanwhile tarring all Republicans as domestic terrorists. In either case the country accepts a Democratic majority in the House and Senate and a Democratic President, OR the deplorables so despised by the legacy press and elites actually truly revolt in some fashion playing into the hands of the Progressive Democrats and the “demonstrated need” to suppress the “enemies of democracy” more p…
