Government and Racism

The role of government is to intervene in harmful public behavior. Racism, sexism, and ethnism is partially taught by word and deed and partially due to innate human fear of those who appear different from yourself. It automatically has existed and continues to exist in all parts of the world. We are the only country founded on principles, not ethnicity, which principles lead us to aspire to a race/sex/ethnic "neutral" public society.

Since our Constitution forbids abridgement of thought or speech, a definition of this triad of discrimination needs only slight modification as it is personal actions that subject us all to “equality before the law”.  I suggest the following:

“Actions based in the beliefs that a particular race, ethnicity, or gender is superior or inferior to another, that a person’s social and moral traits are predetermined by his or her inborn biological characteristics.”
