Now that Peggy Noonan and Holman W. Jenkins, Jr. have exorcised Donald Trump from reasonable discourse and evaluation (WSJ June 18-19, 2022), they may be wise to remember the substantial numbers of Americans of all stripes that supported many of his policies, regardless of his Huey Long populism. Underneath all the self-delusions of the mainstream regarding allegations of his collusion with Russia and his self-delusions regarding his claims of election fraud is a growing tidal wave of dissatisfaction with what Mattias Desmet calls our Totalitarian Technocracy.
